OVER THE BRIDGE

In The Autumn of 2003 we finished two songs that we'd been tinkering with for some time in our Wonderfulsound studios and after various versions we felt like we'd finally nailed it!  "Over The Bridge" consisted of a lo-lopping sample taken off an old "Stereo to Stereo" album, uncannily reminiscent of a forgotten David Axlerod track.  As we ploughed through vocal styles ranging from the Beta Band to Bob Dylan(!!) one day it all seemed to fall together and the Superimposers were born.
Although not quite.
At this time we were also collaborating with some other producers for a CD release called "The Wonderfulsound Libraries Vol 1.  Still unsure about these 2 tracks, an eleventh hour decision to stick "Over The Bridge"& "Trust Me" in the mix ended up being an invaluable move.  Of the 50 or so copies handed to friends, people in record shops, producers, DJs, they were the only 2 tracks that we had any  feedback on.  Karl from Soul Jazz records  (now SOTU) loved "Trust Me" and suggested we put it on a 7" and Diesel from X-Press 2 said the same about "Over The Bridge".  The rest is history.
If you are lucky enough to own this obscurity, check the back sleeve, this was the first and last release to include Miles' home telephone number on the record sleeve. Oh, and his Hotmail address.  (Now both defunct)
Stand out memories of this period include:  Miles' executive decision to leave DAN's soulful sigh of disgust in when he hits a bum note on his lead guitar moment....  And of course, Dan struggling to get dial up internet set up on his G3 Mac in time to hear 'Over The Bridge' being played on Greater London Radio for the first time.  There's a TDK tape recording of this epic moment somewhere in a shoe box. Perhaps we'll dig it out at some point and post it up here.
